Tamara RAWICZ
born NIENAŁTOWSKA

( 1905-1987 )
Born in Warsaw, studied sociology and history at the University of Warsaw. Worked at the Bank of Poland until 1943, when she was arrested with her husband by the German occupation authorities and was deported to forced-labour camps in Germany. Lived in France 1945-1974. Joined her son Jerzy in Montreal in 1974. Active in Polish community organizations. Died at age 82.
Jerzy RAWICZ
( 1924-2000 )
Born in Warsaw, son of Tamara (above) . During the war, fought in the underground Home Army and in the Warsaw Uprising, suffered a leg wound, was deported to a German concentration camp. After the war, went to Switzerland for treatment, pursued his studies there and graduated in Chemical Engineering.

Emigrated to Canada en 1967, taught chemistry in Granby colleges. Active in Polish organizations in Montreal, was a long-time chairman of the Polish-Canadian Congress.

Honoured for his outstanding service. Died at 76, mourned by his wife Krystyna.
Elisabeth RAWICZ
(her name is not engraved on the tombstone)

Born in France, daughter of Jerzy (above). Was an artist and painter. Died in Morin Heights at the age of 52.
Kazimierz 'Pierre' RAVICK
( 1931 - 2017 )
Born in Warsaw, son of Henryk and Tamara, brother of Jerzy (above), he studied in France and Switzerland after the war. He emigrated to Canada in the 1960's and prospered as a businessman. He died in Morin Heights at age 86, mourned by his wife, Linda Zdaniak and by his daughter, Natasha-Anastasia.
