Physician. Born and raised in Krakow. After war's outbreak, under German occupation, he joined the underground resistance fighters (ZWZ, AK), became a lieutenant and earned medals and military crosses. After the war, in 1947, the secret police of the Soviet-dominated Polish state arrested and imprisoned him for alleged resistance. Subsequently released, he completed his medical studies in 1952, specializing in gynecology and obstetrics. He practiced in Krakow until 1966, when he was able to obtain a medical contract in Tunisia, where he moved with his wife, Dr. Anna Rutkowska, a physician, and their daughter Maria. In 1971 they emigrated to Canada and settled in Montreal, where Marian died at the age of 73.
