Born in south-eastern Poland, studied in Lwow, served in the Polish army in WW II. Emigrated to Canada in the 1950's. Worked at the Université de Montréal and over a long period of time he served as secretary to the Centre d'Études Slavistiques. Was a devoted volunteer in many Polish community projects. Died at age 76 in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.
