Karolina STOCKER
born KOCHANOWSKA

( 1888-1965 )
Born in Radowce, southern Poland, then under Austrian domination. Married Ludwik Stocker and raised three children. In Lwow during WW II, her fluency in German helped her support the anti-Nazi resistance. After moving to Warsaw, she worked for German employers, her cover for helping Jewish families who were in hiding. Her daughter Krystyna, a young liaison officer in the Underground Home Army (AK) was killed during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. In 1946, Karolina emigrated to the US at her daughter Walentyna's invitation. Died at age 77 while visiting her son Andrzej in Montreal.
